This is a truly unique publication dedicated to the legacy of one of the most significant architects of Central Europe. The book presents Plečnik in an international context and demonstrates the timelessness of his work - from his key realizations in Vienna, Prague, and Ljubljana to contemporary reconstructions of his buildings. The publication offers an overview of the individual phases of Plečnik's work, his original synthesis of antiquity, the Renaissance, and modernism, as well as his exceptional influence on Czech and Slovak architectural culture. It recalls his work at Prague Castle, his pedagogical activities, and his formative role in shaping the Slovenian capital. A large number of museum and gallery institutions from Vienna, Ljubljana, and Prague contributed to the book, ensuring the high quality of the materials reproduced. Some of the archival documents and originals are published here for the first time. The book is intended for professionals as well as the wider cultural public and confirms that Plečnik's work remains a living source of inspiration for contemporary architecture. The publication is edited by Prof. Damjan Prelovšek. Contributions were provided by Assoc. Prof. Zdeněk Lukeš, Prof. Vladimír Šlapeta, and Prof. Boris Podrecca.
